Bangladesh Maritime University (BMU) is the first maritime university in Bangladesh, established by an Act of Parliament on October 26, 2013. It is the 37th public university in the country, the third maritime university in South Asia, and the twelfth globally.

Location and Campus:
BMU operates its temporary campus at Pallabi, Mirpur-12 in Dhaka. Plans are underway to establish a permanent campus on a 106.6-acre site at Hamidchar, Bakolia in Chittagong.
