Job Summary:
The Bangladesh Competition Commission, under the Ministry of Commerce, is seeking a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Member (Economics). The selected candidate will play a vital role in ensuring fair competition and economic development in the country by implementing policies and regulations aligned with the Competition Act, 2012.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze economic policies and their impact on market competition.
- Provide expert advice on regulatory measures to promote fair competition.
- Develop strategies to prevent monopolistic practices and ensure consumer welfare.
- Conduct research and assess economic trends affecting competition in various industries.
- Collaborate with government and private sector stakeholders to enhance the competitive environment.
- Prepare reports, policy papers, and recommendations for government agencies.
- Participate in national and international economic forums to represent Bangladesh’s interests.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Economics from a recognized university.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in economics, market analysis, or regulatory affairs.
- Strong knowledge of economic policies, competition law, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills in both Bengali and English.
